Most team building performs.
Horses can’t be fooled by it.
This is the honest version.

A full day in the Tuscan hills where your team works with horses on the ground, no riding, no role-play. Horses respond only to what is real, so communication, trust and presence under pressure show up as they truly are. Then we turn what surfaces into a shared reference your team takes back to work. This is Horse Power Team™.

You have tried the ropes course, the escape room, the workshop. This is different: a day that shows your team how it actually works together, honestly, and gives you a shared reference you can return to when the pressure is real.

The truth about most team building.

A fun day out, a few laughs, some photos, and by the following week nothing has really changed. The activity was designed to be enjoyed, not to reveal how your team truly operates.

What if the exercise couldn’t be gamed?

A horse doesn’t respond to job titles, confidence, or the right words. It responds only to what is real, so the dynamics you actually have, good and difficult, come to the surface where you can work with them.

That is what this day is for.

A Day Your Team Will Carry

A shared reference you’ll point back to at work.
A day that returns to mind long after the offsite ends.

Horse Power Team™ is not something you present.
It is something your team lives, together.

And long after the day ends,
its lessons stay in how you work.

What is Horse Power Team™?

Horse Power Team™ is a guided day of ground work with horses in a quiet Tuscan setting, led by experienced facilitators.

What makes it work for a team is its honesty.

It asks your people to coordinate, communicate and stay present with a horse that reflects exactly what they do, no titles, no scripts, no way to fake it. The real dynamics simply appear, and the team can see them clearly.

It suits any team, at any stage, from a new group finding its feet to a senior team under real pressure. No horse experience is required. Everyone arrives exactly as they are, and that is the point.

There is no “right” outcome and no one is put on the spot. That is what makes it safe and useful: the horses reveal what is real, and we help your team make sense of it, together.

It does not lecture your team, it shows them how they work, and gives them something to build on.

What This Day Gives Your Team

Communication that’s honest.
Trust you can feel, not just claim.
A shared reference you’ll carry back to work.

What actually happens?

What Your Team Experiences

It meets your team exactly where it is: for some it breaks a silence between departments that had quietly hardened. For others it surfaces how people really lead under pressure. For many it becomes a shared language, a moment everyone was in the room for, that they can point back to at work.

There is nothing to perform and nothing to win.
Only real dynamics, made visible, and worked with.

This is what makes it both safe and useful:
a day that meets your team where it is, and stays with it long after the offsite ends.

When Your Team Works, But Not Together

Some days deliver a workshop.
This one gives your people an honest mirror of how they operate.
Horse Power Team™ meets your team where it is, without forcing anything.

Horse Power Team™ is designed for the moments when a team needs real insight more than another workshop, and choosing to look honestly at how you work is already a step forward.

A team that’s stopped communicating

Meetings run long and say little. People nod, then do something else. The real conversations happen in side channels, never in the room. You need the honest dynamics on the surface, where you can work with them.

  • For silos that quietly hardened
  • For trust that eroded without a crisis
  • For getting the unsaid into the open

Onboarding a new or merged team

New hires, a reorg, two groups becoming one. Everyone is polite and no one quite knows how the others work. A shared, level experience builds a common language faster than any slide deck.

  • For new joiners and mixed seniority
  • For post-merger integration
  • For a real starting point, together

A leadership offsite with substance

You want more than a nice lunch and a whiteboard. You want your leaders to see how they actually lead under pressure, and to leave with something they can name and use back at work.

  • For leadership teams and senior groups
  • For presence and pressure, made visible
  • For insight that outlasts the day

“For over twenty years, I have watched horses show people the truth about how they connect. Not through words. Not through advice. Through presence. Through mirror. Through honesty a team cannot argue with.”

“A team can’t perform for a horse. It reflects exactly how you communicate, whether you trust each other, and how you hold up under pressure. If you are here, considering this for your team, trust that instinct. I look forward to meeting you in the arena.”

Where Horse Power Team™ Is Born

The Approach

Horse Power Team™ was born at Alterreno from observing how horses respond to human presence when there is nothing to perform and nothing to prove. These encounters are not about riding, but about connection, trust and communication between people.

Within a safe and guided setting, horses reflect what is real, allowing clarity to emerge naturally. There are no expected outcomes and no pressure to perform.
This is why Horse Power Team™ reaches teams that workshops cannot: it adapts to your group and meets it exactly where it is.

Head of People, tech scale-up

A team of 12 grown into silos after two years of rapid hiring.

Engineering, product and go-to-market had stopped really talking. Each group was competent on its own, and each quietly blamed the others when things slipped. Standard offsites had come and gone with no lasting change.

With the horses there was nowhere to hide behind a role. Who over-controlled, who stepped back, who waited to be told, it surfaced within minutes, and the team could finally see it in themselves rather than in each other.

We’d built silos without noticing.
The horse only responded when we actually coordinated, and it was obvious when we didn’t.
People saw their own patterns instead of pointing at the next team.
We left with language we still use in stand-ups.

Operations Director, family business

A long-serving team, worn down and running on habit.

Years of firefighting had left the operations team efficient and exhausted. They executed well and connected little, and goodwill was thinning under the pressure.

The day asked for presence, not output. Standing with an animal that responds to calm rather than urgency, the team remembered how to slow down, notice one another, and lead without pushing.

We were productive and completely disconnected.
The horse didn’t reward speed, it rewarded attention.
For once nobody was managing a crisis, they were just present.
Something in how we treat each other shifted after that.

Managing Director, professional services firm

Two departments newly merged, polite but not yet one team.

A restructure had joined two groups with different habits and a fair amount of quiet suspicion. On paper they were one team. In practice they were two, being careful.

Working the same horse in turn, they had to agree, hand over, and trust each other in real time. The awkwardness had nowhere to sit, and a common way of working began to form.

We were one team on the org chart and two in the room.
The horse forced us to actually rely on people we barely knew.
By the afternoon the two sides had stopped keeping score.
It gave us a shared starting point we didn’t have before.

Founder, early-stage startup

A small, intense team heading into a make-or-break year.

Six people carrying enormous pressure, moving fast and rarely stopping to check how they worked together. Small frictions were starting to cost them.

Away from screens and deadlines, the horses reflected exactly how the team handled stress: who tightened up, who went quiet, who tried to force it. Naming it calmly, together, changed how they approached the pressure waiting back at the office.

Under pressure we defaulted to bad habits without seeing them.
The horse showed us our stress responses in real time.
We talked about how we work, not just what we ship.
That conversation was overdue, and this made it easy.

HR Business Partner, manufacturing group

A leadership team preparing for a demanding transformation.

The senior team knew the year ahead would test them. They wanted to understand how they led under pressure before the pressure was real, not after.

The horses gave immediate, unbiased feedback on presence and clarity. Each leader saw their own default, the controller, the avoider, the over-explainer, and the group discussed it openly, without defensiveness.

We wanted to see our leadership before the hard year hit us.
The horse read our intent, not our job titles.
Everyone recognised their own pattern, and nobody could argue with it.
We came away calmer and far more honest with each other.

F.A.Q.: Everything you may want to know

How many people can take part?

Horse Power Team™ works well for groups from 4 to 20. The day is designed around your numbers and your goals, so tell us the size of your team when you request a quote and we will shape it accordingly.

Is it indoors or outdoors, and what about the weather?

We use both covered areas and open spaces, and we adapt the day to the conditions. Only extreme weather requires rescheduling, and we agree that with you in advance.

Is it physical, and is there any riding?

There is no riding at all. Everything happens on the ground, on foot, at a calm pace. It is not a fitness challenge, it is about communication, trust and presence, so no equestrian experience is needed.

How does the assessment work?

Before the day we hold a short assessment call, included in the €180 assessment fee, to understand your team, your context and what you want to achieve. This is what lets us tailor the day rather than run a generic format.

How does invoicing and VAT work?

The price is €1.980 per day, with VAT and the assessment included. We invoice your company directly and provide everything your finance team needs.

Can the day run in English or Italian?

Both. Facilitation is available in English and Italian, so mixed or international teams are entirely at home here.

How far in advance should we book?

We keep corporate availability intentionally limited, so earlier is better, especially for specific dates. Request a quote and we will confirm what is currently open.

Is there a half-day option?

Horse Power Team™ is a full day. The depth of what surfaces, and the debrief that makes it useful, need the time. A rushed half-day would not do your team justice.

Ready when you are? Request a quote, or write to us and we’ll help you decide.

After the day

The debrief closes the loop, so your team leaves with a shared reference and practical takeaways, not just a good memory. Some teams return later for another day, others simply carry what surfaced into how they work. Both are equally right. What changes between your people is yours to keep.

One honest day could change how your team works.

You don’t need the perfect brief. You just have to be willing to see how your team really operates.

Start with a quote and an assessment call. No obligation.
