Your leaders have read the books and sat through the workshops. This is different: a day where leadership stops being a concept and becomes something they feel, adjust and carry back to work.

The truth about classroom leadership training.

Your leaders have attended the courses. They know the models, the frameworks, the language of good leadership. And yet, back at their desks, behaviour rarely changes for long.

What if the problem isn’t more knowledge?

A slide can teach a leader what presence is. Only a living, honest mirror can show them whether they actually have it, in the moment, with nowhere to hide.

That is what this day is for.

Leadership Your Team Will Carry Back

A shift in how they show up, felt in the body.
Insight that returns to mind long after the workshop glow fades.

The Horse Power Team™ is not something you explain.
It is something your leaders live, and practise.

And long after the day ends,
its lessons keep working in the room.

What is the Horse Power Team™?

The Horse Power Team™ is experiential leadership development alongside horses in a quiet Tuscan setting, guided by experienced facilitators.

What makes it work for leaders is its honesty.

It asks nothing of your leaders but to be present and congruent. A horse reads intention, not instruction. It responds to a leader who is grounded and clear, and braces against one who forces, postures or hides behind rank. The feedback is immediate, physical and impossible to argue with.

It suits any leader, at any stage, from first-time manager to seasoned executive. No riding and no horse experience is required. Everyone arrives exactly as they are, and that is the point.

There is no judgement, no scoring and no performance to keep up. That is what makes it safe and revealing at once: your leaders see themselves clearly, without being exposed in front of a room.

It does not lecture, it lets each leader meet their own way of leading.

What This Day Gives Your Leaders

Executive presence they can feel.
Trust, communication and leading without force.
Self-awareness that transfers to the workplace.

What actually happens?

What Your Leaders Experience

It meets each leader exactly where they are: for some it reveals how much they lean on authority instead of presence. For others it exposes the gap between what they say and how they show up. For many it is simply the first time they receive honest, real-time feedback on their leadership, from a being with nothing to gain by flattering them.

There is nothing to perform and nothing to fake.
Only presence. Only intention. Only how they actually lead.

This is what makes it both safe and powerful:
a day that meets each leader where they are, and stays with them long after they return to work.

When Authority Isn’t Turning Into Real Followership

Some training adds knowledge.
This gives your leaders presence, feedback and self-awareness.
The Horse Power Team™ meets them where they are, without forcing anything.

The Horse Power Team™ is designed for the moments when leaders need presence more than authority, and choosing to develop it honestly is already the mark of a leader worth following.

Leaders who rely on authority

Your title gets compliance, but not commitment. People do what you ask, then quietly hold back. You sense the gap between the position you hold and the presence you carry, and you want to close it.

Request a quote →
  • For leaders who want influence, not just rank
  • For those who feel obeyed but not followed
  • For presence that earns real commitment

New managers finding their feet

You’ve stepped into the role and you’re still finding your footing. You’re not sure when to push, when to yield, or how to be taken seriously without forcing it. You want to lead as yourself, with confidence.

Request a quote →
  • For first-time and newly promoted managers
  • For leading peers who were colleagues yesterday
  • For steady authority without the bluster

Leadership teams that need alignment

Individually strong, collectively out of sync. Signals get mixed, trust runs thin, and energy leaks between you. You want a shared reference point, a day that shows you, without slides, how you actually lead together.

  • For executive and leadership teams
  • For HR and people-development programmes
  • For alignment you can feel, not just agree to

“For over twenty years, I have watched horses show leaders the truth about how they lead. Not through advice. Not through theory. Through presence. Through mirror. Through a response that cannot be faked.”

“A horse does not care about your title or your track record. It responds to whether you are congruent, present and worth following in this moment. That is the most honest leadership feedback a person can receive. If you are here, considering this for your leaders, trust that instinct. I look forward to meeting your team in the arena.”

Where the Horse Power Team™ Is Born

The Approach

The Horse Power Team™ was born at Alterreno from observing how horses respond to human presence when there is nothing to perform and nothing to prove. These encounters are not about riding, but about leadership, trust and the way a person shows up under pressure.

Within a safe and guided setting, horses reflect what is real, allowing clarity to emerge naturally. There are no scores and no pressure to perform.
This is why the Horse Power Team™ reaches leaders that classroom training cannot: it adapts to each person and meets them exactly where they are.

VP Engineering

Highly capable, quietly frustrated his team held back.

A senior engineering leader arrived certain his problem was other people. He gave clear instructions and still felt resistance, and he could not name why.

With the horse there was no title to hide behind. The moment he pushed, the animal braced. The moment he steadied himself and asked with intention, it moved. The lesson landed in his body, not a slide.

I kept giving clearer instructions and getting less.
The horse only moved when I stopped forcing and got present.
I saw exactly what my team feels every day.
I lead differently now, and they’ve noticed.

HR Director, manufacturing

Bringing a fractured leadership team back into sync.

An HR director brought eight plant leaders who agreed in meetings and diverged everywhere else. The friction was real, but nobody would name it in a room.

On the ground with the horses, the mixed signals became impossible to hide. Where two leaders pulled in different directions, the horse simply stopped, and everyone saw it.

They nodded in the room and did the opposite outside it.
The horses showed the misalignment in seconds, no debate.
We finally had one honest reference we all shared.
The debrief changed how they run the floor.

Founder, 30-person agency

Charismatic, but running on control rather than trust.

A founder who had built everything on drive and control noticed his best people were leaving. He wanted energy and buy-in, and kept getting caution.

The horse would not respond to intensity, only to congruence. When his words and his presence finally matched, the animal softened, and so did his sense of what leadership actually asked of him.

I thought more energy was the answer. It was the problem.
The horse ignored the performance and read the real me.
I learned to lead with steadiness, not pressure.
Trust in the team is rebuilding.

Newly promoted team lead

Managing former peers, unsure how to hold the line.

Promoted over people who had been her equals a month before, she was over-explaining, softening every ask, and quietly losing ground.

The horse asked for none of the apology, only clarity. When she stood in her decision without shrinking, it followed without hesitation, and she felt what steady authority is actually made of.

I was apologising my way through every request.
The horse followed the moment I stopped shrinking.
I didn’t need to be louder, only clearer.
My first real week of leading, not managing.

COO, logistics scale-up

Sharp on strategy, blind to the room she was in.

A results-driven COO could read a spreadsheet in an instant and miss the mood of her own leadership meeting entirely. Feedback said she was hard to read.

The horse gave feedback with no delay and no politics. Every shift in her attention showed up immediately in the animal, and for the first time she could see her own impact in real time.

I read numbers brilliantly and rooms terribly.
The horse reacted to me before I’d said a word.
I felt my impact land, second by second.
I listen with my whole self now.

Head of Sales, SaaS

Great at pushing, learning to lead without force.

A high-performing sales leader ran his team the way he closed deals, hard and fast. It hit targets and burned people out, and retention was slipping.

The horse would not be pushed, only led. Every attempt to force met resistance, every present, patient ask met willingness. He left with a felt sense of what his team had been trying to tell him.

Pushing worked on the numbers and cost me the people.
The horse only moved when I dropped the pressure.
Leading and forcing are not the same thing.
My best two people just chose to stay.

F.A.Q.: Everything you may want to know

How many leaders can take part?

The day works for groups from 4 to 20. We shape the format to the size of your group, from a small leadership team to a wider management cohort, and tell you honestly what each size makes possible.

Is there any riding?

No. The Horse Power Team™ is entirely ground work. There is no riding and no horse experience required. It is about presence and communication, not technique, so everyone starts on equal footing.

What is the assessment for?

The €180 assessment is a short call before the day where we understand your group, your context and what you want your leaders to develop. It lets us tailor the experience to your real challenges rather than run a generic session.

How does invoicing and VAT work?

The price is €1.980 per day, VAT and assessment included. That is €1.800 per day plus the €180 assessment. We invoice your company directly, so it is straightforward for finance and procurement.

Which language is the day run in?

Both English and Italian. Facilitation is fully bilingual, so international teams and mixed groups are equally at home. Let us know your group and we will confirm the setup.

How much lead time do you need?

We recommend booking a few weeks ahead so we can run the assessment and tailor the day properly. If your timing is tighter, ask, we will tell you honestly what is possible.

Is it really a full day?

Yes. The Horse Power Team™ is a full day at Alterreno, with time in the arena and a structured debrief. It is designed so the insights transfer into behaviour, not just a memorable morning.

Where exactly is Alterreno?

Peccioli, Pisa, Tuscany, 75 min from Florence, 35 min from Pisa airport. Easy to reach for teams travelling in. Exact address provided on booking.

Ready to plan a day for your leaders?

Use the quote form above and we’ll reply within two working days with a tailored proposal, no obligation.

No obligation. Just a clear proposal shaped around your group.

Still have a question? Write to us, we’ll help you decide.

After the day

The day is complete in itself, with a debrief built to transfer into the workplace. There is nothing your leaders must sign up for afterwards. Some organisations return with new cohorts, others simply put the insights to work. Both are equally right. What changes in how your people lead is yours to keep.

One honest day can change how your leaders lead.

Your leaders don’t need another framework. They need to feel, in real time, how they show up, and what it costs or earns them.

Start with a quote. No obligation, no commitment.
