Great hires don’t automatically make a team.
Belonging has to be built.
This is the day that builds it fast.

A full day in the Tuscan hills where your new team works with horses on the ground, no riding, no role-play. Horses respond only to what is real, so trust, communication and presence form in the open instead of taking months to appear. It builds belonging fast, before habits set, and gives a new group a shared origin story to start from. This is Horse Power Team™.

You have tried the onboarding deck, the welcome lunch, the icebreakers. This is different: a day that turns new hires into a real team, builds trust and belonging in the open, and gives your new group a shared origin story to return to as they start working together.

The truth about most onboarding.

A slide deck, a welcome lunch, a round of introductions, and by the second week people still barely know each other. Those things inform new hires, but they don’t build a team, and they don’t create real trust.

What if belonging didn’t take months?

A horse doesn’t respond to job titles, seniority, or the right introduction. It responds only to what is real, so a new group builds its first genuine trust and cooperation in the open, together, on day one rather than month six.

That is what this day is for.

A Shared Origin Story

A day your new team all lived, together.
A moment they’ll point back to from their very first week.

Horse Power Team™ is not something you onboard people through.
It is something a new team lives, together.

And long after the day ends,
it stays in how they trust each other.

What is Horse Power Team™?

Horse Power Team™ is a guided day of ground work with horses in a quiet Tuscan setting, led by experienced facilitators.

What makes it work for a new team is its honesty.

It asks your new hires to coordinate, communicate and stay present with a horse that reflects exactly what they do, no titles, no scripts, no way to fake it. So a group of near-strangers builds its first real trust in the open, and starts to feel like one team.

It suits any new group, from a graduate cohort finding its feet to remote hires meeting in person for the first time. No horse experience is required. Everyone arrives exactly as they are, as equals, and that is the point.

There is no “right” outcome and no one is put on the spot. That is what makes it safe and useful: the horses reveal what is real, and we help your new team make sense of it, together.

It does not induct your people, it lets them become a team, and gives them a shared story to build on.

What This Day Gives Your New Team

Belonging, built fast.
Their first real trust, not just introductions.
A shared origin story they’ll start from.

What actually happens?

What Your New Team Experiences

It meets your new hires exactly where they are: for a graduate cohort it turns cautious strangers into a group that belongs. For remote hires it turns little squares on a screen into people who have stood beside each other. For many it becomes a shared origin story, a day everyone was there for, that they carry into their first weeks together.

There is nothing to perform and nothing to win.
Only new people, seeing each other beyond job titles.

This is what makes it both safe and useful:
a day that meets a new team where it is, and builds belonging before habits set.

When You Have New Hires, But Not Yet a Team

Some days induct new people.
This one turns them into a team that trusts each other.
Horse Power Team™ meets your new group where it is, without forcing anything.

Horse Power Team™ is designed for the moments when a new group needs to become a real team, and choosing to build trust and belonging early, before habits set, is already a step forward.

After a wave of hiring

You brought in a lot of people quickly, and now you have a headcount rather than a team. Everyone is still learning names, who does what, and how the others actually work. One shared, level day builds a common language faster than any onboarding deck.

  • For a post-hiring wave finding its feet
  • For mixed seniority meeting as equals
  • For a real starting point, together

A graduate or trainee cohort

A new intake, early in their careers, polite and a little cautious with each other. They need to feel they belong before habits and cliques set in. A day where nobody can hide behind a job title gives them a shared origin story and their first real trust.

  • For graduate and trainee programmes
  • For belonging built early, not late
  • For a cohort that stays connected

Remote hires meeting in person

People who have only met on screens are finally in the same place. The window is short and the awkwardness is real. A day on the ground, together, turns a video-call roster into people who have actually stood beside each other and trusted each other.

“For over twenty years, I have watched horses show people the truth about how they connect. Not through words. Not through advice. Through presence. Through mirror. Through honesty a new team cannot argue with.”

“New hires can’t perform for a horse. It reflects exactly how they communicate, whether they trust each other yet, and how they come together under pressure. If you are here, considering this for your new team, trust that instinct. I look forward to meeting you in the arena.”

Where Horse Power Team™ Is Born

The Approach

Horse Power Team™ was born at Alterreno from observing how horses respond to human presence when there is nothing to perform and nothing to prove. These encounters are not about riding, but about connection, trust and communication between people.

Within a safe and guided setting, horses reflect what is real, allowing trust to emerge naturally. There are no expected outcomes and no pressure to perform.
This is why Horse Power Team™ reaches new teams that onboarding decks cannot: it adapts to your group and meets it exactly where it is.

Head of Talent, scale-up

Fifteen new hires brought in over a single quarter, still strangers to each other.

A fast hiring wave had doubled the team, and the new joiners barely knew one another. Onboarding decks and welcome lunches had come and gone, and people were still cautious, still working out who did what.

With the horses there was nowhere to hide behind a job title. Who took the lead, who stepped back, who waited to be told, it surfaced within minutes, and the group could finally see each other as people rather than names on an org chart.

We had a headcount, not a team.
The horse only responded when they actually worked together.
People saw each other clearly for the first time.
They left with a shared story they still refer back to.

People Ops Lead, graduate programme

A cohort of new graduates, polite and careful, at the very start of their careers.

The new intake was capable but tentative, each unsure of their place and reluctant to stand out. We wanted belonging to form early, before cliques and quiet habits set in.

The day asked for presence, not performance. Standing with an animal that reads intent rather than status, the graduates stopped competing and started trusting, and a cohort began to feel like one group.

They were a cohort on paper and strangers in the room.
The horse didn’t care who had the best CV.
For once nobody was trying to impress, they were just present.
They came out of it genuinely bonded.

Engineering Manager, remote team

A distributed team meeting in person for the first time after months on screens.

We had hired brilliant people from four countries, and they had never been in the same room. On video they were efficient and a little flat, and real trust had never had a chance to form.

Working the same horse in turn, they had to agree, hand over, and rely on each other in real time. The screen distance had nowhere to sit, and people who had only been little squares became a team.

They knew each other’s faces from calls and nothing more.
The horse forced them to actually depend on people they’d never met.
By the afternoon the video-call politeness was gone.
It gave them a shared starting point remote work never could.

Head of People, newly formed team

A team assembled from several departments to run a new function.

A new initiative had pulled people together from different corners of the business, each with their own habits and a fair amount of quiet wariness. On paper they were one team. In practice they were still individuals, being careful.

Away from desks and job descriptions, the horses reflected exactly how the group coordinated: who over-controlled, who went quiet, who tried to force it. Naming it calmly, together, gave the new team a way of working before old habits could harden.

They were a team on the org chart and individuals in the room.
The horse read how they cooperated, not their titles.
By the end they’d stopped protecting their own patch.
It built trust before there was anything to fix.

HR Business Partner, post-acquisition intake

New hires joining an existing team during a period of fast growth.

A group of new joiners was landing into an established team, and both sides were being polite and slightly guarded. We wanted them to feel like one team quickly, not spend months quietly circling each other.

The horses gave immediate, unbiased feedback on presence and cooperation. Old hands and new hires saw each other beyond seniority and job title, and the two groups discussed it openly, without defensiveness.

We wanted them to feel like one team, fast.
The horse read intent, not tenure or job title.
New and existing people finally saw each other as human.
They came away belonging, not just inducted.

F.A.Q.: Everything you may want to know

How many people can take part?

Horse Power Team™ works well for groups from 4 to 20. The day is designed around your numbers and your goals, so tell us the size of your new team or cohort when you request a quote and we will shape it accordingly.

Does it work for people who have only just met?

That is exactly what it is best at. When a group has just formed, the horses give everyone a level, honest starting point, so new hires build trust and belonging far faster than months of meetings would allow.

Is it physical, and is there any riding?

There is no riding at all. Everything happens on the ground, on foot, at a calm pace. It is not a fitness challenge, it is about communication, trust and presence, so no equestrian experience is needed and everyone starts as an equal.

How does the assessment work?

Before the day we hold a short assessment call, included in the €180 assessment fee, to understand your new team, how it came together and what you want to achieve. This is what lets us tailor the day rather than run a generic format.

How does invoicing and VAT work?

The price is €1.980 per day, with VAT and the assessment included. We invoice your company directly and provide everything your finance team needs.

Can the day run in English or Italian?

Both. Facilitation is available in English and Italian, so mixed, international and remote-hire cohorts are entirely at home here.

How far in advance should we book?

We keep corporate availability intentionally limited, so earlier is better, especially if you want the day soon after a hiring wave or a cohort’s start date. Request a quote and we will confirm what is currently open.

Can you run it for successive cohorts?

Yes. If you onboard in waves or run repeat graduate intakes, we can hold a Horse Power Team™ day for each cohort. Tell us your schedule when you request a quote and we will plan the dates with you.

Ready when you are? Request a quote, or write to us and we’ll help you decide.

After the day

The debrief closes the loop, so your new team leaves with a shared origin story and practical takeaways, not just a good memory. Some cohorts return later for another day, others simply carry the trust that formed into how they work together. Both are equally right. What forms between your people is theirs to keep.

One honest day could turn your new hires into a team.

You don’t need the perfect onboarding plan. You just have to be willing to let your new people become a real team, together.

Start with a quote and an assessment call. No obligation.
