Most integration happens on the org chart.
Horses can’t read an org chart.
This is where the two groups actually meet.

A full day in the Tuscan hills where two teams work with horses on the ground, no riding, no role-play. The horse doesn’t know who came from which company, so it responds only to what is real between your people, communication, trust and presence under pressure, exactly as they are. Then we turn what surfaces into a shared reference the combined team takes back to work. This is Horse Power Team™.

The deal is signed, the systems are being merged, the structure is drawn. What is left is the hardest part: two groups of people learning to trust and work as one. This is a day that puts those real dynamics in the open, honestly, and gives your combined team a shared reference to return to when the pressure is real.

The truth about most integration plans.

They are flawless on paper: reporting lines merged, systems aligned, a town hall to announce it all. And months later the two groups still sit apart, defend old habits, and quietly wait to see how it really shakes out. The plan integrated the structure, not the people.

What if the two sides met on level ground?

A horse doesn’t respond to which company you came from, your seniority, or the right words. It responds only to what is real, so the dynamics between your two groups, good and difficult, come to the surface where you can work with them.

That is what this day is for.

A Day Two Teams Will Carry

A shared reference both sides can point back to at work.
A day that returns to mind long after the integration launch.

Horse Power Team™ is not something you present.
It is something two teams live, together.

And long after the day ends,
its lessons stay in how the combined team works.

What is Horse Power Team™?

Horse Power Team™ is a guided day of ground work with horses in a quiet Tuscan setting, led by experienced facilitators.

What makes it work for a merger is its neutrality.

It asks two groups to coordinate, communicate and stay present with a horse that reflects exactly what they do, no legacy badges, no scripts, no way to fake it. The horse doesn’t know who came from which company, so the real dynamics between the sides simply appear, and everyone can see them clearly.

It suits any integration, at any stage, from two teams that have just been combined to a leadership group already under real pressure. No horse experience is required. Everyone arrives exactly as they are, from either side, and that is the point.

There is no “right” outcome and no one is put on the spot. That is what makes it safe and useful: the horses reveal what is real between the two groups, and we help the combined team make sense of it, together.

It does not lecture your people, it shows two teams how they work, and gives them something to build a shared way of working on.

What This Day Gives Two Teams

Communication built from scratch, honestly.
Trust the two sides can feel, not just claim.
A shared new reference point the combined team carries back to work.

What actually happens?

What the Combined Team Experiences

It meets the two groups exactly where they are: for some it breaks a polite “us and them” that has quietly hardened since the deal closed. For others it surfaces how the two sides really lead and decide together under pressure. For many it becomes a shared language, a moment everyone was in the room for, that they can point back to as one team at work.

There is nothing to perform and nothing to win.
Only the real dynamics between two groups, made visible, and worked with.

This is what makes it both safe and useful:
a day that meets two teams where they are, and stays with them long after the integration launch ends.

One Company Now, Two Teams Still

Some days deliver a workshop.
This one gives two groups an honest mirror of how they now operate together.
Horse Power Team™ meets your combined team where it is, without forcing anything.

Horse Power Team™ is designed for the moments after a merger or restructure, when two teams need real insight more than another integration workshop, and choosing to look honestly at how the sides work together is already a step forward.

After a merger or acquisition

The deal has closed and the org chart is done, but the two groups are still two groups. People are polite, cautious, and quietly loyal to how things used to be. A shared, level day builds a common language faster than any integration memo.

Two departments forced together

A restructure has merged two functions with different habits, tools and unspoken rules. On paper it is one department. In the room it is two, being careful. You need the real dynamics on the surface, where you can work with them.

  • For different cultures now sharing a remit

A newly combined leadership team

Leaders from both sides now have to steer as one, often before they fully trust one another. You want them to see how they actually lead together under pressure, and to leave with something they can name and use back at work.

“For over twenty years, I have watched horses show people the truth about how they connect. Not through words. Not through advice. Through presence. Through mirror. Through honesty a team cannot argue with.”

“When two teams come together, a horse doesn’t care which side anyone came from. It reflects exactly how you communicate, whether you trust each other, and how you hold up under pressure, as one group. If you are here, considering this for a merger, trust that instinct. I look forward to meeting you in the arena.”

Where Horse Power Team™ Is Born

The Approach

Horse Power Team™ was born at Alterreno from observing how horses respond to human presence when there is nothing to perform and nothing to prove. These encounters are not about riding, but about connection, trust and communication between people.

Within a safe and guided setting, horses reflect what is real, allowing clarity to emerge naturally. There are no expected outcomes and no pressure to perform.
This is why Horse Power Team™ reaches merging teams that workshops cannot: it gives both sides neutral ground and meets them exactly where they are.

Head of People, post-merger

Two companies combined on paper, still two teams in practice.

The deal had closed months earlier, yet the two workforces still sat apart, spoke in different shorthand, and defended the way their old company did things. Integration workshops had produced polite agreement and little real change.

With the horses there was nowhere to hide behind a legacy badge. The animal did not know who came from which company, so people had to coordinate as they were, not as which side they belonged to, and the divide finally surfaced where it could be worked with.

On paper we were one company, in the room we were two.
The horse didn’t care which side anyone came from.
People had to actually rely on colleagues they barely knew.
We left with a shared starting point the memos never gave us.

Integration Lead, combined services group

Two operations functions merged into one after an acquisition.

Two operations teams had been folded together, each convinced its own processes were the sensible ones. Meetings stayed courteous and guarded, and the real friction lived in side channels rather than the room.

Working the same horse in turn, they had to agree, hand over and trust each other in real time. The old “us and them” had nowhere to sit, and a common way of working began to form on genuinely neutral ground.

Both sides thought their way was the right way.
The horse only responded when we coordinated as one group.
By the afternoon nobody was keeping score of old company lines.
It gave us a level starting point we couldn’t reach in a boardroom.

HR Director, manufacturing

A newly combined leadership team steering an integration.

After the acquisition, leaders from both organisations had to run the integration together, before they had built any real trust. Each carried the habits and assumptions of their former company into every decision.

The horses gave immediate, unbiased feedback on presence and clarity. Each leader saw their own default, the controller, the avoider, the over-explainer, regardless of which company they came from, and the group could discuss it openly.

We had to lead as one before we trusted each other.
The horse read our intent, not our old job titles.
Everyone recognised their own pattern, and nobody could argue with it.
We came away calmer, and far more honest as a combined team.

CHRO, post-acquisition integration

Two cultures meeting for the first time as colleagues.

One company had acquired another, and the two cultures were meeting properly for the first time. There was goodwill on both sides, and also caution, quiet comparisons, and a fair amount of waiting to see how things would really work.

Away from slides and legacy systems, the horses reflected exactly how the combined group communicated and trusted, or did not, yet. Naming it calmly, together, gave people a common reference to build the new organisation on.

Two cultures were meeting each other for the first time.
The horse gave us neutral ground neither side owned.
We talked about how we’d work together, not who did it before.
That conversation was overdue, and this made it easy.

People Partner, post-merger technology group

A merged product organisation trying to become one team.

A merger had brought two product organisations under one roof, each with its own rituals, tools and quiet pride. They were competent apart and wary together, and the integration plan looked flawless on the page.

The day asked for coordination, not credentials. Standing with an animal that responds to presence rather than pedigree, the combined team built trust and communication from scratch, in real time, rather than assuming it from the org chart.

The integration plan was perfect, the people hadn’t merged.
The horse didn’t reward pedigree, it rewarded attention to each other.
For once nobody was defending their old organisation.
Something in how the two sides treat each other shifted that day.

F.A.Q.: Everything you may want to know

How many people can take part?

Horse Power Team™ works well for groups from 4 to 20. The day is designed around your numbers and the two groups coming together, so tell us the size and make-up of the combined team when you request a quote and we will shape it accordingly.

Can it really mix two groups that don’t know each other yet?

Yes, that is exactly what it is built for. Because the horse responds to presence, not to which company or department anyone came from, both sides meet on genuinely level ground. People coordinate as they are, and a shared way of working begins to form.

Won’t it feel forced, given the merger is already sensitive?

No. Nothing is staged and no one is put on the spot or asked to perform unity. The horses simply reflect what is real between the two groups, and we help the combined team make sense of it, calmly and together. It is supportive of your people, never blaming.

Is it physical, and is there any riding?

There is no riding at all. Everything happens on the ground, on foot, at a calm pace. It is not a fitness challenge, it is about communication, trust and presence, so no equestrian experience is needed on either side.

How does the assessment work?

Before the day we hold a short assessment call, included in the €180 assessment fee, to understand the merger or restructure, both groups, and what you want to achieve. This is what lets us tailor the day to your integration rather than run a generic format.

How does invoicing and VAT work?

The price is €1.980 per day, with VAT and the assessment included. We invoice your company directly and provide everything your finance team needs.

Can the day run in English or Italian?

Both. Facilitation is available in English and Italian, so teams merged across sites, countries or languages are entirely at home here.

How far in advance should we book?

We keep corporate availability intentionally limited, so earlier is better, especially for specific dates. Request a quote and we will confirm what is currently open.

We have a large combined population. Can we run more than one day?

Yes. For a bigger workforce we can run several days, one group at a time, so each cohort of the newly combined organisation gets the same focused experience. Tell us the total numbers when you request a quote and we will propose a sensible plan.

Ready when you are? Request a quote, or write to us and we’ll help you decide.

After the day

The debrief closes the loop, so the combined team leaves with a shared reference and practical takeaways, not just a good memory. Some organisations return later with the next cohort of a larger population, others simply carry what surfaced into how the two sides now work as one. Both are equally right. What changes between your people is yours to keep.

One honest day could turn two teams into one.

You don’t need the perfect integration plan. You just have to be willing to see how the two groups really work together.

Start with a quote and an assessment call. No obligation.
