You have tried talking. You have tried giving space. This is different: a day that lets you and your parent simply be together, until the distance quietly softens.

The truth about the time we have with our parents.

You have tried talking. You have tried patience, and space, and holding your tongue. Sometimes it helps for a day, and then the wall returns.

What if the answer isn’t more words?

What if you could simply be together, without pressure or performance, until the distance between you quietly softens on its own.

That is what this day is for.

An Encounter You’ll Both Carry

A closeness you’ll feel again between you.
A day that returns to mind long after ordinary life resumes.

Daimon Kindred™ is not something you explain.
It is something you live, together.

And long after the day ends,
its echo stays with you both.

What is Daimon™?

Daimon Kindred™ is a shared journey alongside horses in a quiet Tuscan setting, guided by experienced facilitators.

What makes it work for a parent and an adult child is its honesty.

It asks nothing of you but to be present with each other, no talking things through, no fixing, no old roles. Only the conditions for connection to re-emerge, naturally.

It suits any parent and any adult child, at any age. No horse experience is required. You both arrive exactly as you are, and that is enough.

There are no expectations, no “right” outcome and no pressure. That is what makes it safe and gentle, even when the years have made you strangers in some small way.

It does not impose itself, it gives you both space to meet again.

What This Day Gives You Both

Closeness you’d let slip.
Presence beyond words.
A day you’ll both carry forever.

What actually happens?

What You and Your Parent Experience

It meets you both exactly where you are: for some it dissolves a silence that had grown between you. For others it brings understanding beyond the usual roles. For many it is simply a day of presence, side by side, away from every distraction.

There is nothing to prove and nothing to achieve.
Only space. Only time. Only each other.

This is what makes it both safe and gentle:
a day that meets you and your parent where you are, and stays with you long after it ends.

Is This For You and Your Parent?

Some days solve a problem.
Others give a parent and an adult child presence, space and care.
Daimon Kindred™ meets you both where you are, without forcing anything.

Daimon Kindred™ is designed for the moments when you and your parent need presence more than words, and simply choosing to take the time is already a step back toward each other.

When you only ever talk logistics

You speak often, about appointments, errands, what needs doing. And almost never about anything real. You are close in duty, and further away than you’d like in every other way.

  • For before it’s too late to really connect
  • For time that matters, not just time spent

When old distance still sits between you

There may be things unspoken, an old coolness, a habit of politeness that keeps you both at arm’s length. You would like, just once, to close that gap without a difficult conversation.

  • For quietly mending an old distance
  • For closeness without a hard talk
  • For letting presence do what words cannot

“For over twenty years, I have watched horses help people set down the weight they carry. Not through words. Not through advice. Through presence. Through mirror. Through permission to be seen.”

“This is an encounter with truth, your truth, reflected by a being who cannot pretend. If you are here, considering this for you and your parent, trust that instinct. Something inside you knows this matters. I look forward to meeting you in the arena.”

Where Daimon™ Is Born

The Approach

Daimon™ was born at Alterreno from observing how horses respond to human presence when there is nothing to perform and nothing to prove. These encounters are not about riding, but about connection, with oneself or with others.

Within a safe and guided setting, horses reflect what is real, allowing clarity to emerge naturally. There are no expected outcomes and no pressure to change.
This is why Daimon™ reaches people that words cannot: it adapts to you and meets you exactly where you are.

When we read what parents and their grown children write after their Daimon Kindred™ experience, certain words appear again and again

Giulia & Anna, 40 & 68

An adult daughter and her ageing mother.

Giulia and her mother Anna had spent years talking about appointments and errands, and almost never about themselves. Giulia wanted, just once, to change that before more time slipped by.

In the horse’s calm company the roles fell away. They were not carer and cared-for, or daughter and mother, just two women who loved each other, present at last.

We talk every day, and never really talk.
That day, beside the horse, we finally did.
I saw my mother, not just her needs.
It’s a day I’ll treasure for the rest of her life.

Marco & Giulio, 34 & 70

A son and his father, after years of few words.

Marco and his father Giulio loved each other in the quiet, unspoken way of many fathers and sons, rarely in the same room, rarer still in real conversation. Marco booked the day, hoping to close the gap.

With the horses there was nothing to prove and no need to talk. Simply doing something together, side by side, said what years of phone calls hadn’t.

My father and I have never been good with words.
That day we didn’t need them.
We just worked with the horse, together.
I drove home feeling closer to him than I have in decades.

Elena & Pietro, 45 & 74

A daughter and her father, mending an old distance.

Elena and her father Pietro had spent years being polite, a distance neither of them had chosen but both had kept. Elena wanted, just once, to sit beside her father with nothing to defend.

In the horse’s calm company the old roles fell away. They were not the disappointed father and the difficult daughter, just two people who loved each other, present at last.

We’d been circling each other for years.
That day, beside the horse, we finally stopped.
I saw my father, not the old arguments.
It’s a day I’ll treasure for the rest of his life.

Sara & Rosa, 38 & 66

A daughter and her mother, before more time passed.

Sara kept meaning to spend real time with her mother Rosa, and life kept getting in the way. She chose a day away from the errands and the phone, just the two of them.

The horse only responded when they moved as a team, and slowly the everyday habits fell away. For an afternoon they were simply mother and daughter, laughing again.

I kept saying we’d do something proper, one day.
That day finally came, and I’m so glad it did.
No errands, no phones, just us and the horse.
I’ll hold onto it for the rest of my life.

Davide & Franco, 42 & 72

A son and his father, closing a lifetime of distance.

Davide and his father Franco had spent decades in careful, surface conversation, a distance both had grown used to. Davide wanted to change it while there was still time.

The horse asked them to cooperate without instructions. In that shared focus the distance quietly closed, and Franco let his guard down without a single difficult conversation.

I always thought there’d be more time to fix things.
That day we didn’t talk about the past, we just worked together.
By the end he had his hand on my shoulder.
Sometimes presence says more than any talk.

Chiara & Teresa, 36 & 69

A daughter and her mother, rediscovering each other.

Between work and life, Chiara and her mother Teresa shared plenty of logistics and little real presence. They came for a day away from screens and schedules.

Away from it all, they discovered each other again, curious, playful, fully there. Teresa softened; Chiara simply enjoyed being her daughter.

I’m always busy, and rarely truly present with her.
That day it was just us and a gentle horse.
She was so alive, so herself.
I got a whole day of actually being her daughter.

F.A.Q.: Everything you may want to know

What if my parent is hesitant to come?

Some parents are hesitant at first, unsure what it involves. On the free call we help you find a way to invite them that feels gentle, not forced, curiosity about the horses often does what persuasion can’t. And if the day isn’t right, we will tell you honestly.

Isn’t it too late for us?

It rarely is. We have seen bonds reopen between grown children and their parents who hadn’t truly talked in years. The love is usually still there, it just needs a way through that isn’t words.

What if it makes things worse?

It won’t. There is no confrontation, no digging into problems, no blame. The day is gentle and guided, and nobody is ever pushed. At worst you have a calm day together, at best something shifts.

Is this therapy?

No. We are not therapists. Daimon™ is experiential, you and your parent are with the horses, guided by expert facilitators. It sits alongside therapy beautifully, and many families come without any.

Is my parent too old for this?

There is no upper age limit at all. Some of our most moving days are between grown children and their elderly parents. The day is gentle and paced to suit them, everything happens calmly, on the ground.

Do you need horse experience?

None at all, for either of you. It is about presence, not riding skill. Everything happens on the ground.

How much is it, and how does it work?

The Daimon Kindred™ is €377, all-inclusive, for a parent and an adult child. It starts with a free call, so you decide only after you have spoken to us. Payment is secure, and the day is freely reschedulable within 12 months.

What if it rains?

We have covered areas and adapt the day. Weather is part of it, some of the most powerful days happen in mist or light rain. Only extreme conditions require rescheduling.

Where exactly is Alterreno?

Peccioli, Pisa, Tuscany, 75 min from Florence, 35 min from Pisa airport. Easy to reach. Exact address provided upon booking.

Not ready to decide today?

Leave your email and we’ll send the full details and current availability, gently, no pressure.

No spam. Just the information you need, when you need it.

Still have a question? Write to us, we’ll help you decide.

After the experience

The day is complete in itself. There is nothing to continue and nothing to sign up for. Some families return later, others simply carry the day with them. Both are equally right. What changes between you is yours to keep.

One conversation could change everything.

You don’t have to have the right words. You just have to be willing to try something different.

Start with a free call. No pressure, no commitment.
