The work centres on philosophical understanding, subtle energetic communication, refined classical principles and the idea of service to future generations. The programme supports integration of learning into coherent professional practice and includes a quiet philosophical strand that links technical skill with purpose and service.
Evolution™ examines the philosophical foundations that underpin effective horsemanship. It considers the difference between compliance and partnership drawing on Nuno Oliveira’s distinction between shaman and sorcerer. It investigates the relationship between freedom and structure, submission and cooperation and dominance and leadership. Students review their own methods, recognise unconscious patterns and refine their approach through deeper philosophical understanding. This combined intellectual and experiential study alters practice at its base.
The programme develops subtle awareness of energetic communication that sits beneath physical interaction. Students study how horses respond to intention, focus, breath and internal state before any physical aid is applied. They refine the capacity to notice small responses and adjust communication before escalation is required. Work is done with well-prepared horses able to reflect these attempts with clarity, which helps reveal areas that need further refinement. This approach cultivates feel that cannot be conveyed through standard teaching methods.
During Evolution™ students receive direct mentorship with Angelika Schneider, drawing on more than forty years of sustained practice, supported by input from influential visiting practitioners whose classical technique and upper-level experience broaden the frame of study. They observe expert work at close range to understand decision-making, timing and subtle adjustment, then engage in focused discussion and inquiry that addresses questions requiring advanced understanding and careful thought. Throughout the process they receive guidance in applying these insights to their own way of working, refining a distinct professional approach and replacing limiting habits with clearer practice.
