Family Daimon™ is a profound shared experience that brings your family into the presence of a horse, an animal of flight and extraordinary sensitivity. In this safe and guided space, each participant explores emotions, dynamics and unspoken bonds by engaging with meaningful objects placed in the arena. This journey is about being together really, feeling really and unexpectedly relate to each other.
The Family Daimon™ supports families navigating disconnection, adolescence or doubt. Ideal for those seeking genuine connection beyond roles or assumptions. It offers multi-generational groups a meaningful shared experience, while young adults can explore inherited patterns and choose their own path—all while being seen and heard at every stage.
The Family Daimon™ experience triggers a small emotional earthquake that helps participants reconnect with each other and bring out their secrets through the relationship and interaction with the selected horse. Greek philosophers defined the dàimon as a thread connecting one’s spiritual strength with divine power. Socrates as the Master who lives within us, to whom we must give voice through intuition and trust in ourselves.
The Family Daimon™ includes a preliminary thirty-minute video assessment to identify personal dynamics, challenges and goals to explore. After the assessment, the Alterreno team prepares the experience and selects the group of suitable horses. The horse(s) for the actual session is confirmed on the day of the meeting. The experience can last from thirty minutes up to a maximum of two hours, depending on how much can be brought out and communicated through the horse. For optimal results, the sessions should ideally be held at least four times in a year.
The experience is designed to reveal challenges and foster connection through breathwork with the horse. Observing the horse in liberty highlights mirrored aspects of oneself, while exploring your internal state and presence deepens awareness. Paddock interactions invite personal reflection through engagement with the horse. Each element serves the purpose of reconnection, as horses reflect clearly and immediately.
NO FAMILY IS, AND WILL EVER BE, PERFECT
You don’t need to know everything before starting. The session is guided by experts, with experience and patience: you are never left alone in the process. Please know it’s normal to experience unexpected emotions: crying or feeling relief is part of the process. What happens is a release, not a danger. You can go at your own pace, without obligations or performance.
Working together with horses requires authentic presence impossible when family performs habitual roles.
