Alterreno offers four horse boarding types of memberships. In the quiet beauty of Tuscany’s hills near Peccioli, at Italy’s top BHS Approved Centre guided by Angelika Schneider, horses don’t just live here, they belong. Choose the one that matches your vision, knowing this: at every level, your horse will be cared for as if they were our own.

Entry Level Service
Alterreno Classic™

Our entry-level service offers comprehensive care for your horse. Horses are accommodated in spacious, light-filled and well-ventilated private stables with direct access to their own small individual paddock. The daily routine includes tailored feeding plans and daily turnout into expansive natural grass paddocks, where fresh water is always available and checked manually. This structure is designed to promote the horse’s overall wellbeing, both physical and emotional. Monthly updates are provided.

The Membership provides access to:
Initial evaluation and personalised nutritional plan
Spacious, ventilated stable with private access to a small individual paddock
Daily monitoring of the horse’s physical and emotional condition and monthly progress updates
Daily turnout into natural grass paddocks
Assistance with documentation, transport logistics and administration
Additional services not included will be subtracted from the APA
ENHANCED LEVEL SERVICE
Alterreno Heritage™

The Alterreno Heritage™ includes all Classic™ services and adds a dedicated wellness and movement programme, quarterly veterinary checks, weekly schooling sessions up to three times per week and monthly profile updates for each horse.

Initial osteopathic and veterinary check upon arrival for full assessment
Enriched feeding and nutritional supplements
Up to three weekly training sessions (groundwork or riding)
Quarterly osteopathic and veterinary assessments

TOP TIER LEVEL SERVICE
Alterreno Custom™

The Custom™ level includes all Classic™ and Heritage™ services and assigns a full time groom to the horse seven days a week, including public holidays. It comprises a daily wellness and movement programme and schooling sessions up to twice per day, together with assistance for documentation, transport and administration. It also includes monthly sessions with an osteopath, veterinarian and farrier or trimmer, as well as behavioural assessments and a weekly report.

Full-time groom 7 days a week (weekends & holidays included)
Monthly osteopath and equine dentist sessions along with quarterly behavioural assessments.
Quarterly biomechanical and behavioural assessment

Comprehensive first consultancy and report for behavioural and rehabilitation session plans
Retirement Livery
Alterreno Old Souls™

This service covers daily care for your horse, from turnout and bringing in to stall cleaning, fresh hay and water, tailored feeding, rug adjustments and routine leg and hoof care. Support is provided seven days a week.

The Membership provides access to:
Nutrition crafted for aging bodies that process differently, need differently, deserve differently than young athletes
Daily checking
Daily life with herdmates who move at their own pace, with calm transitions in and out
Regular check ups to protect health, dignity and serenity in the final season of life in Tuscany
